God and His Laws (In Hinduism)

I am not a poet, but sometimes words flow through my vein,
If not composed in time, then I may never remember again…

It’s probably a great fate to be born in a Brahmin lineage and a Hindu sect. I have got many opportunities to learn the nature of Truth on a timely basis from my parents, old grandma, my spiritual teacher, religious texts, and experience & observations. I might have been ignorant and rude at times, but I have always been guided by my elders to follow the right direction, or atleast not do anything improper or anything that hurt others. I have been taught about the actions that lead one to the state of blessedness or difficulty. I have been taught about the ways of obtaining grace and compassion from the Lord, the method of balancing the past sins, and the way of reaching Godhead again. Although I am not a strict follower, I endure and respect everything I have learnt.

Today, once again after a long time, a strange feeling is occurring inside me. My nerves are dancing in the melody of words. My heart is compelling me to create something wonderful. Considering it a perfect occasion, I have composed a poem describing my faith and thought about God and His laws (being based on the knowledge of Hinduism and Brahmanism).

God, and His Laws

Transcendental pure energy is He,
But in many forms, He appears to be,
Nameless and casteless, He has no gender,
But through own skill, He exists in varied color.

Numerous are His names, numerous are His forms,
Eternal is His nature, but still does new creations,
Being the Cause of the world, and the Mother of the Universe,
Incarnates Himself in the figure as Creator, Preserver and Destroyer.

He created the Immortals, and the five elements,
Sun, Moon and Earth, stars, galaxies and planets,
He created the day, He created the night,
He created the shade, and so the effulgent light.

He created the mountains, rocks, rivers and lakes,
From the blade of grass, to the hills and forests,
Heaven, hell and sky, and also the ten quarters,
Birds, beasts and insects, and all the men & scholars.

He is the cause of divinity, He is the cause of evils,
Worldly cycle of birth & death, and again of threefold qualities,
Old age, disease and pain, service, virtue and sin,
Love, bondage and liberation; everything originate from Him.

He is our soul, the indweller of beings,
Divine, pure and constant, it can’t be harmed or seen,
He is the consciousness, the silent witness of all,
The carrier of Karma, the cause of failure and luck.

He is our intellect, the breath, body and health,
He is our Lord, the giver of happiness and wealth,
He is our valor, beauty, bravery and strength,
He too is the senses, ego, pleasure and indolence.

He is our mother, He is our father,
He is our relative, He too is the supporter,
He is our Lord, the bestower of peace and harmony,
We came from Him, and He too is our destiny.

Be a true follower, love every creature,
Give equal vision to stone, gold, and pearl,
Have purity always in thought, word and deed,
Never show your anger, or lust, envy and greed.

Follow your books and your spiritual teacher,
Observe your rituals, in an unceasing manner,
Remember Lord always, do yoga and meditation,
Make strong resolve to never pursue wrong direction.

Help the needed people, clothe the naked ones,
Feed the hungry children, shelter those without homes,
Feel the presence of Lord in all those needy beings,
Consider it a chance to wash away your sins.

Virtue leads to heaven, sin leads to hell,
Emerges the ocean of Karma, difficult to sail,
But work without egoism, you will not be bound,
This secret law of Hinduism is nowhere else to be found.

Be a true believer, God is your faith,
You'll be blessed with purity, knowledge, wisdom and grace,
Or be a non-believer, God is your courage,
You'll be blessed with bravery, strength, skill and prowess.

God is your faith, God is your courage,
God is your hope, and everything you possess,
Better be an atheist; it doesn’t matter,
But if you disgrace God, you will be a sinner.

Love your sect, love your culture,
Follow the doctrines set by your scripture,
Pray your God, and sing His song,
But never show bias between any religion.

Pray God as Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva or Goddess,
Sun, Moon, or wind, water, stone or forest,
Or, remember in heart, meditate the pure energy,
It’s all the same God, what exists other than He!

Either learn the truth, or teach the naive,
Be a social worker, or free the caged,
Whatever branch you hold, if it is pure,
You will reach the abode of righteous, for sure.

Follow your ancestors, ever hold your faith,
Perform your duty which leads you beyond death,
Accept what is granted at the time of your birth,
Because religion is not the goal, but realizing your holy nature.

Be you a Hindu, or Buddhist; Christian; Muslim,
Pave your own way, build a stair to Him,
Because truth is one, but paths are many,
God is one, His manifestations are many.

Ever remember,
Truth is One, Paths are many,
God is One, Manifestations are many,
Mission is One, Leelas are many,
Knowledge is One, Scriptures are many.

Is eating meat wrong?

Anything we do, if that hampers our body (physicality), mind (mentality), soul (spirituality), and behavior (humanity), then it is wrong. Our body is made up of 60% water and 40% solid. Thus, our body needs more water (liquid) compared to solid foods. Anything that contains a high amount of liquid is easily digestible. Thus, raw vegetables and fruits are highly recommended for a healthy body. Soaked nuts and seeds are highly recommended than dried or fried ones. If it has to be cooked, it should be properly cooked so that its water concentration becomes high. Now, considering meat, how should it be cooked for easy digestion? Of course, boiled or steamed. But what we mostly consume is deep-fried, grilled, smoked and burnt (very rarely, properly cooked), i.e. we cook in such a way that it loses its available water content. We also claim that meat is needed for extra nutrition. But by eating improperly cooked meat for fashion or desire, we are actually degra

Dream, the Wonderful Experience

Dream is a common experience for all of us. Most of us see it everyday. Some remember it fully whereas some remember only a few segments. While others don’t remember any; they just feel like they have not seen any dreams at all. This can be the case sometimes, but mostly we see and forget right after we wake up. Many believe that dreams are only a means to remove tense from the mind after a long day's work. Some believe they are symbolic or reveal hidden secrets in one’s life, whereas some believe these are only the mirage of what we see, learn and think, i.e. the reflection of our mind. Yes, sleep is important for the relaxation of the body and the mind, to aid digestion, to transmit necessary nutrients throughout the body, and for many other health benefits. We feel lots of refreshment and energetic after having a peaceful (undisturbed) sleep. But isn’t it sleep that is all required? Why do we have to see dreams? What significance does it have i
